TRIPS TO ENRICH THE CURRICULUM
MASTERY FLOW
The Mastery Flow Model is a process in which learners progress from new content to deep understanding. We use this specific model for teaching and learning within science at Westerings Primary.
We define deep understanding as:

Pupil’s long term retention.

Pupil’s ability to apply learning in a variety of context including unfamiliar context.

It is about pupils knowing what they know.

LEFT: Children learning about how sound travels by vibrations! Engaging learning opportunities help pupils know more and remember more...
BELOW: During Westerings Careers Month, Year 5 and 6 had the opportunity of participating in a live video conference with a commander of the National Space Centre UK! The children spent time beforehand thinking of some questions, before asking them over a live feed!
