The children did amazingly well with their first spelling test on Friday. Your support with this is very much appreciated. Please continue to support your child ready for this week's spellings and ensure they have their spelling books in school. This week's spellings are:

As you are aware, on Monday 19th May, we have an exciting visit from Trunk Theatre who will be performing the events of the Great Fire of London to the children, followed by an activity. During the afternoon, we will be making our own Tudor houses out of cardboard boxes and paper - see the picture below. Please start collecting cardboard boxes etc and send these in with your child on the morning of Monday 19th as we don't have anywhere to store these beforehand. This is in preparation for Tuesday...

On Tuesday 20th May 9:30am-11am, we will be visiting Belchamps to burn our houses!!!! Watching the Great Fire play out in action! Belchamps will be hosting us for the event, and the fire brigade will be attending to start and put out the fire, do a fire safety talk etc. We will be walking to Belchamps and back so please make sure the boxes aren't too big as each child will be required to carry their Tudor house to Belchamps. For this event we are in need of some PARENT HELPERS to come along. If you are able to help us for this event, please let us know via contactus@westerings.org
