Year 5 Weekly Blog wb. 1st December
Hello Parents! It's been another busy and exciting week! Here's a quick update from Year 5. This week, we've loved cooking our pizzas as part of the DT project. The children did a fantastic job preparing their toppings, and they smelled amazing! We hope those of you whose children have already brought them home, enjoyed eating them. We've finalised our choices for the Cross Country  team, and letters will be coming home soon once all year groups have confirmed their selection

Year 5 Weekly Blog wb. 17th November
We started the week with great excitement, but the weather had other ideas for our cross-country try-outs ! To ensure the children run on the field safely, we're aiming to run them off this Thursday  instead. Please ensure your child comes into school wearing their full PE kit on Thursday  so we can run the session as planned! This week, we sharpened our numeracy skills by focusing on division facts , using our strong times tables knowledge  as a foundation. We also explored

Support the Poppy Appeal by Buying Poppy Zola Keyrings for Charity
As the season of remembrance arrives, we reflect on the sacrifices made by countless individuals who served our country. This year, the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal takes on an even greater significance, and we are excited to share a unique initiative to support this noble cause. Our school pup (Zola) has been popularised through the distribution of keychains this year. Flag waving Zola, Christmas Zola (and more to come!)... Since it's been a great fundraiser for the s

Spelling Support
Year 5 are trialling learning spellings through a morphology approach before we look to change our spellings across the school. Year 5 Weekly Blog wb. 3rd November
In Maths , we've been deep diving into the building blocks of number! We moved beyond just multiples to explore factors —the numbers we multiply together to get another number. This led us naturally to the fascinating world of prime numbers , discussing what makes them so special and unique. In English , our creative momentum continued!
