In the New Year, we are looking to build a Reading Army to help support our EYFS children with their reading practise in school. Regular reading is incredibly important for young children. It helps to develop language, confidence, comprehension, and a love of books, all of which are key foundations for learning across the curriculum. End of Term Updates As we approach the end of the term, please see a few important updates below. PE and Independence Skills Over the Christmas period , please support your child to practise taking off and putting on their own shoes and socks . Next term, our PE focus will be dance and gymnastics , and for some lessons the children will not be wearing shoes. Dear Parents, We were absolutely thrilled  by how well the children performed in their auditions yesterday for our Christmas play! We are so proud of their enthusiasm and effort. We will be sending home the specific roles this week. Once you know your child's part, you will be able to arrange a suitable costume. Just a quick note to say a huge thank you to everyone who made playdough and kindly donated items for our hedgehog houses. Your support really helps us create wonderful learning experiences for the children. I also wanted to apologise for not updating the children’s reading records today. We’ve been completing phonics and maths assessments so we have up-to-date information ready for parents’ evening. We are so proud of how much the children have achieved in such a short time.

Next week, our story focus will be The Very Helpful Hedgehog  by Rosie Wellesley ! We’ll be diving into the wonderful world of British wildlife, discovering the habitats of animals that hibernate, and learning how we can help care for them as the colder months arrive.
