Speak 2 Teacher

CONNECTING WITH YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER JUST GOT EASIER...

Dear Families,

We are always looking for ways to strengthen communication between home and school, ensuring that any questions or concerns you may have are addressed quickly, clearly, and effectively.

With the significant rise in of the use of emails, and increasingly AI generated content, we are finding that our ability to effectively process and respond to parents is slower than we would like, and certainly less personal.

From next week, we will be introducing a new system called Speak2Teacher, available via the school app.

Rather than contacting the school via email, you will now be able to tap the Speak2Teacher button on our app and submit a short form outlining your query. This will then be directed straight to your child’s class teacher, who will respond with either a phone call, opportunity to chat at the end of the school day or an arranged meeting within 48 hours/two working days (but often sooner).

Why are we making this change?

Over time, we have seen an increase in long email exchanges which can sometimes delay resolution. In many cases, these matters are best resolved through a quick, direct conversation. Speak2Teacher allows us to:

  • Resolve concerns more quickly through real dialogue

  • Ensure communication is clear, personal, and focused on solutions

  • Reduce delays caused by email back-and-forth

  • Give teachers the opportunity to respond thoughtfully and directly

  • Reduce the administrative burden that email composition causes on school staff and our parents.

  • Fosters more positive home-school relationships (which emails can often degrade).

What this means for you

  • You will receive a more personal response within 48 hours

  • You will have the opportunity to speak directly with your child’s teacher

  • Concerns can be clarified and resolved more efficiently

  • You still have the opportunity to escalate your concern if you remain unsatisfied.

Of course, the school office remains available for urgent matters of safeguarding, medical or general enquiries. The contactus@liftwesterings.org email address is your go-to for quick update emails, sharing celebratory news, requesting administrative support (such as absence request forms, clarification of trips/visits, school payments etc.) But now, any concerns which relate directly to your child or the class, can be directly shared with our teachers using Speak2Teacher.

We believe this approach will strengthen relationships, improve communication, and ultimately provide the best outcomes for your child.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We will review the rollout of Speak2Teacher over the coming term.

Kind regards,

Mr. A. Stainsbury

Headteacher
