Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears! Miss Dee, Mr Rothwell, and all the adults supporting you this year are happy to see you have returned with lots of stories about the fun you had over the summer!
We are excited to get to grips with our topic this term - ROMANS! We hope you are looking forward to finding out the remarkable impact this ancient civilization had on our lives today.
Please see below some key information about the upcoming year:
PE will be on a Friday afternoon each week.Â
We will set new spellings and test the previous week's list on Fridays. The first set was given on Friday 6th September. The first test will be on this spelling pattern on Friday 13th. The new spellings will also be placed on Spelling shed on Fridays.
Please expect Doodle tasks to be set on Wednesday each week. The task set for this upcoming week is to complete your baseline for Year 4. This allows us to check where the pupils have made progress and where we can support them next. After this baseline week, either a Maths or English target will be set - which will be based on what we have been working on in Class during the week.
Excitingly, on Tuesday 17th September, we will be participating in a Roman day with visitors coming into school! We would love you to dress up for the day. Here is a link to a document which will give you some ideas about what you can wear. Please do not feel you need to buy a costume for this day, a homemade costume from old clothes will be more than suitable! LINK TO IDEAS - HERE
We look forward to a successful year ahead,
From the Year 4 team.
