Year 1 updates

Happy New Year! 🎉 We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year!

We are really looking forward to welcoming the children back to school tomorrow and beginning an exciting new half term together.

This half term, the children have lots of wonderful learning to look forward to. In English, we will be focusing on the stories Where the Wild Things Are and Owl Babies. We also have an exciting visit planned from Night Owls, where the children will have the opportunity to meet some real owls. In Maths, we will be learning about addition, subtraction, and shape. Our Geography learning will take us to Africa, which will link beautifully with creating African-inspired artwork in Art. In Science, we will be learning about animals, including how they are classified.

Please note: our PE day is changing to Thursday. From Thursday 15th, children should come to school dressed in their PE kit on Thursdays, not Tuesdays. There will be no PE this week.

We’re excited for a busy and engaging half term ahead!

Thank you for your continued support.
