Year 1 weekly updates WB 09.03

Good afternoon,

Please see below for any important updates/reminders regarding next week and phonics resources.

Throughout the week we will be checking the children's phonics and reading knowledge in preparation for the phonics screening check in June. You may wish to be practising phonics at home and reading when you can as we are approaching their phonics screening check.

Friday 13th - Bring your wheels to school day.

To celebrate the completion of our class story 'Mrs. Armitage on Wheels' and the children's hard work in their writing lessons, we are facilitating a morning session where the children can bring in their own set of wheels. We ask that you please keep this to scooters and bikes. All children must bring a helmet otherwise they will not be able to take part. Children should bring their scooter/bike in with them through the KS1 gate, we will have a designated place outside the classroom door to keep these throughout the day.

Friday 13th - Mother's day gift shop.

If you would like for your child to purchase some Mother's Day gifts, please provide them with a purse/ envelope with money. It may be helpful to give your child a list of who to get and ideas of what they like.
