š Year 2 - Weekly Update š
We have had another busy week in Year 2! The children have been working hard across the curriculum, and we are particularly excited about our upcoming trip to Hedingham Castle next week! š°

This week, we have been writing up our non-chronological reports about dragons in best. The children have been using everything they have learned over the past few weeks to create their finished reports, including fantastic vocabulary and expanded noun phrases. š
š¢ Maths
In Maths, we have been learning to read and write numbers to 100 in both digits and words. We have been practising making the connection between a number we can see, such as 42, and its written form, forty-two.
š° History
In History, we have been learning about different types of castlesĀ and how castles changed over time. We explored examples including motte-and-bailey castlesĀ and concentric castles. This has been perfect preparation for seeing a real castle next week!
š Weekly Spellings
The children will be tested on these spellings on Friday 2nd October:

š° Hedingham Castle Trip ā Tuesday 29th September
We are very excited that our Year 2 trip to Hedingham Castle is next Tuesday, 29th September!
We apologise for the error about what clothing the children should be wearing on the initial letter and thank you for your understanding.
To clarify: the children should:
š Wear their normal school uniformĀ and suitable school shoes.
š§„ Bring a warm/waterproof coat and appropriate layers, as the weather may change throughout the day.
š Bring a backpackĀ that they are able to carry themselves.
š„Ŗ Bring a packed lunch in a disposable bagĀ and their water bottle. Please remember no nuts, chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks.
š Medication:Ā If your child requires any medication for the journey, including travel/motion sickness medication, this must go through the school office and must not be handed directly to class teachers on the morning of the trip. This ensures that medication is recorded appropriately and given to the correct adult to carry.
Children must not have any medication in their own personal bags or backpacks. All medication must be held by an appropriate adult.
We have also attached a social story which you may wish to share with your child over the weekend. This will help them to have a clear idea of what to expect from the day and hopefully help them feel excited and prepared for our adventure!
We can't wait to explore everything Hedingham CastleĀ has to offer and bring our History learning to life! š°āØ
