Year 3 Friday update :)
What a fantastic and busy week we have had in Year 3! In writing, we have been working hard on The Iron Man, focusing on fronted adverbials, using conjunctions, and building excitement in our descriptions. In maths, the children have been counting in patterns of 4, 8, 50, and 100, as well as adding 1, 10, or 100 to 3-digit numbers. The children also loved immersing themselves in our Stone Age day today; lots of photos will follow soon!
A huge well done to all our Star Readers who achieved 4 reads on Boom Reader this week and earned 4 Dojos. If you don't have your child's Boom Reader login, please message their teacher as soon as possible to get setup. All children have also been shown their Times Tables Rock Stars logins to start practicing at home. This term we are getting quick at our 2, 5, and 10 times tables, so encouraging just 5 minutes of practice a day will really help build their speed and recall.
Looking ahead to next Thursday, we have our school photos on our PE day. Please make sure your child comes into school wearing their full uniform and brings their PE kit in a bag to change into.
Next week's spellings focus on the /u/ sound spelled ou and will be tested next Friday: young, encourage, flourish, cousin, couple, touch, double, enough, country, and trouble.
Thank you for your support, and we hope you all have a lovely weekend!
