Year 3 Friday update :)

What a Fantastic Week!

What a fantastic week the children have had! They have worked hard, learned lots and shown great enthusiasm throughout the week.

🤖 English

The children have created their own robot characters and written descriptive paragraphs using similes, expanded noun phrases and powerful verbs. We have seen some wonderfully imaginative ideas!

🔢 Maths

We have been practising mentally adding 1s, 10s and 100s to three-digit numbers, developing our confidence and mental calculation skills.

🇪🇸 Spanish

The children have been learning the numbers 1–10 in Spanish and practising their pronunciation.

✝️ RE

We have explored infant baptism, learning about what happens during the ceremony and why it is important to many Christian families.

✖️ Times Tables

The children now have their TTRS (Times Tables Rock Stars) logins, which they can take home and use to practise their times tables.

A little bit of practice each day would be fantastic. For now, our main focus is on becoming really secure with the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. The children should aim to know these quickly and by heart.

We need to nail these three times tables before moving on to the 3s and 4s, so please encourage your child to practise little and often. Even just a few minutes each day can make a big difference!
