Year 4 weekly update - important (please read)

Greetings grownups, and welcome back!

We hope you all had a restful half term. To start with, we’d like to give a huge well done to everyone who has completed their MTC assessments so far, and best of luck to those finishing up this week—we’re really proud of the focus and determination shown by all.

A few important reminders:

  • Letters went out yesterday regarding our upcoming Wild West Week, including details about uniform arrangements, so please check bags if you haven’t seen these yet.

  • Class photos are taking place this Friday, so please make sure children come in their school uniform, and bring their P.E. kit to get changed into later in the day.

  • The School Summer Fête is happening on Saturday 14th June—we’re looking forward to seeing lots of families there for what promises to be a fun day!

  • Thank you so much for all your kind offers of help for the Food and Farming trip! We now have all the help we require and have called and spoken to (or left a message for) the grown ups who we would like to join us on the trip.

In Doodle Learning, our maths recap focuses on estimating, comparing and calculating different measures, including money in pounds and pence. In English, we’re revisiting the present perfect form of verbs and how it differs from the simple past—a helpful grammar point to support our writing. Finally, this week’s spelling words focus on the prefixes ‘super-’, ‘anti-’ and ‘auto-’, and can be found on Spelling Shed or in the children’s spelling books.

Thanks,

Clover & Ivy
