An Action-Packed Week of Learning!

We have had another fantastic week in class, filled with brilliant effort and enthusiasm! In English, we have started crafting our character descriptions, delving deep into the epic story of Beowulf. In Maths, we have been sharpening our place value skills, while in History, we began investigating how the Anglo-Saxons first came to be in Britain. Creativity has been flowing in Art as we launched our new unit on Yayoi Kusama, the "Queen of Polka Dots," and in Science, we launched into space to explore how planets orbit and rotate.

Spellings for Next Week

Our spelling focus for next week covers words ending in '-cious'. Spelling tests take place on Fridays. Children can practise their words in a fun, interactive way on Spelling Shed using their individual logins.

Please encourage your child to practise writing out the following words:

  • atrocious

  • conscious

  • delicious

  • ferocious

  • gracious

  • luscious

  • malicious

  • precious

  • spacious

  • suspicious

Reminders for Next Week

  • Monday: Mr Rothwell will be attending Middle Leadership Training in London. The class will be covered by Mrs Fox.

  • Friday – PE: Please ensure children arrive in appropriate school PE kit (a friendly reminder: no hot pants).

  • Uniform & School Shoes: A gentle reminder to ensure all children are following our standard school uniform policy. Please review our guide on acceptable school footwear here or check the attached image for clear visual examples—shoes should be plain, formal black styles (no trainers, boots above the ankle, or sports soles).

Thank you as always for your brilliant support! Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
