Year 6 - Final Two Days' Arrangements

Dear parents and carers,

Just two days to go... How quick this year has felt! Your children, as ever, continue to do themselves proud and myself, Mr Bird and the rest of the Year 6 team are looking forward to a jam-packed and fitting final two days of Primary School with the classes. Please see below for details and information about next week.

Monday 20th July

  • Full-school uniform day

  • No PE today

  • 9:00 - 10:45 Children will be writing thank you letters and postcards to their residential leaders (residential attendees), or their Westerings staff who looked after them last week (non-residential attendees) in the morning. We will also be writing diaries of our weeks, so if any child has their own notes, polaroid pictures, diaries, scrap books etc. to help them with this then they are more than welcome to bring them in.

  • 11:00 - 12:30 Children will be creating and practising group Leavers poems/memories for our final Leavers' assembly on Tuesday.

  • 1:15 - 3:20 Class party time - final reward time in class, so children are welcome to bring a suitable amount of nut free snacks and any non-valuable, non-electronic games to play with their classmates in the afternoon.

Tuesday 21st July

  • Full-school uniform day, however Y6 may bring a house colour t-shirt and accessories alongside their school uniforms to change into for the remainder of the day, after the award ceremony, and please bring a spare Westerings shirt on the day for shirt signing

  • 9:00 - 10:45 Whole School Awards Ceremony (Full-school uniform worn for this)

  • 11:00 - 12:30 Shirt signing. Children change into their house colour tops and accessories, and use spare Westerings shirt for signing. Children are welcome to bring their own selection of suitable pens and markers for this too. They will have the opportunity for Year 6 peers and teachers to sign, and then other members of the school when we do a final 'tour' of Westerings.

  • 1:15 - 2:00 Children make final tweaks to poems and memories, final tidying of classrooms.

  • 2:00 -3:00 Year 6 Leavers' Assembly

  • 3:00 Children return to class for final teacher farewells. Involved parents to set up top gate (balloons, carpet etc.)

  • 3:20 Year 6 children wait for other year groups to leave.

  • 3:25 (ish) Year 6 team walk Year 6's up to Sunny Road gate for their final farewell, photos and celebrations.

Thank you again from us all for your support and efforts this year - your children have truly shown their best... and their best is absolutely remarkable!

Best regards,

Mr Wade, Mr Bird & The Year 6 Team
