EYFS Messages

Lift Explores day- 12th January

As a trust we are taking part in a local Georgaphy and History Project.

Session 1- EYFS History Learning – Toys from the Past and Present

As part of our learning about the past and the present, we are asking for your support.

Please send your child in with (on 12th January):

  • One “old” toy This should be a toy that used to belong to a parent or grandparent when they were younger. 👉 If the original toy is very old, fragile, or no longer available, a photo is absolutely fine.

  • One “new” toy A toy that your child plays with now.

Important notes;

  • Toys should be small and easy to manage in school

  • Please do not send large or bulky items (e.g. large ride-on toys or full-size rocking horses!)

  • Toys do not need to be expensive or special — everyday toys are perfect

We will be using the toys to talk about how toys have changed over time.

Thank you for your support 😊

Session 2- 🌿 Geography Enquiry

What leaves can we find in our school grounds?

What are pupils doing?

  • Acting as geographers

  • Observing leaves in the school grounds

Collecting simple data about what they find

We will complete this activity in the afternoon as a whole year group. If any parents or grandparents would like to join us for this activity, or for the morning session to talk about toys they played with as children, please email the school office and a member of the teaching team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Morning session - History session-9:00-10:00am
