I hope you’re enjoying a lovely weekenddespite the weather!!

I just wanted to let you know a little about our first week back after the holidays.

Our new topic will be SPACE, where the children will be learning some exciting basics such as:

• What space is like

• Planets, stars, the moon and the sun

• Rockets and astronauts

Our story focus for the first week will be Aliens Love Underpants by Claire Freedman. The children will be designing and describing their own pants and aliens, learning how we research and find out new information, and making our very own space rockets 🚀

In maths, we will be starting to look at the concept of subtraction.

Over the holidays, please could you start collecting any junk materials we can use for junk modelling a space rocket. We are looking for:

• Plastic bottles of different sizes

• Cardboard tubes (for rocket boosters)

• Small yoghurt pots

• Bubble wrap

• Tin foil

• Buttons

• Space-themed stickers

Please avoid anything too large, such as big cereal boxes.
