🌟 Next week in EYFS! 🌟

We have another exciting week of learning ahead, with our story focus being ā€˜There’s a Superhero in Your Book!’ by Tom Fletcher.

In the story, we help a little superhero discover their special powers and learn that being a superhero isn’t just about having super strength or flying — it’s also about being brave, kind, helpful and believing in yourself. We’ll be using the story to inspire lots of superhero-themed learning and play.

šŸ¦øā€ā™€ļø Our provision will include:

  • Creating our own Superhero Headquarters

  • Designing and making superhero capes

  • Using walkie-talkies to communicate like superheroes

  • Creating superhero gadgets and equipment

  • Thinking about our own special superhero powers

  • Lots of opportunities for superhero role play, writing, drawing and problem-solving

šŸ”¤ Phonics Assessment – Monday

On Monday, we will be carrying out a phonics assessment to see how the children have been progressing with the sounds they have been learning. This will help us to identify what they are confident with and any sounds they may need a little more practice with- We will feed this back at Parents consultations.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§ Parents' Consultations

A reminder that Parents' Evening takes place on Monday and Wednesday evening. We look forward to sharing how your child has settled into Reception and talking about their learning and progress so far.

šŸŽ„ Christmas Designs- Xmas4schools project.

Keep an eye out for Christmas Designs! Your child will be bringing their Christmas artwork home in their book bag by Friday. Their design can then be used to create personalised Christmas cards and gifts, which are a lovely way to share their artwork with family and friends. šŸŽØšŸŽ„

šŸ“¦ Resources needed

We are looking for a few resources to help us enhance our superhero-themed provision next week. If you have any of the following items at home, we would really appreciate your donations:

  • Small cereal boxes (mini ones)

  • Regular-sized cereal boxes

  • Plastic/paper cups

  • Rice or lentils

  • Elastic bands

  • Kitchen roll tubes

🦸 Superhero Capes

We would also like each child to bring in one plain pillowcaseĀ that they can use to design their very own superhero cape. They will be thinking about their special superhero power and creating a cape to match!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. šŸ¦øā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¦øā€ā™€ļøāœØ
