EYFS reading reminders

Dear Parents,

Following our reading session with the children today, we have noticed that some reading records have not been updated regularly, and it appears that some children may not be reading as frequently at home as we would hope.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you how crucial early reading is for your child's development. Regular reading at home, even just a few minutes each day, makes an incredible difference. Repetition and daily practise help children build their confidence, improve their fluency, and develop a deep love for stories and learning. Every time your child reads, they are strengthening the skills that will support them across all areas of their education.

We kindly ask that you continue to listen to your child read as often as possible and ensure that you record this in their reading records. (you only need to record the school reading books) Your support at home is invaluable and greatly enhances the progress we see in school.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's learning journey.
