EYFS UPDATES

Next week, we will continue our learning about the life cycle of chickens. All of our chicks will have hatched, and the children will have the opportunity to observe how they grow and change over time.

This will be supported by our Book of the Week, From Egg to Chicken by Gerald Legg, a non-fiction text that will deepen their understanding of this fascinating process.

You are warmly invited to join us on Monday after school for our Parent Pop-In, where you can see the wonderful progress the children have made. There will also be a pre-loved sale, an excellent opportunity to pick up good quality summer uniform in preparation for the warmer weather.

On Wednesday, we will be visiting Barleylands Farm. During this trip, the children will learn about the journey of food from farm to plate. They will have the chance to meet animals and explore plants that contribute to our food, learn how wheat is processed, and even use it to make their very own pizza. This experience will support their understanding of the world by helping them recognise where food comes from and the important role farming plays in our everyday lives.

Important reminder: If you have not yet paid for the Living Eggs experience and the Barleylands Farm trip, please do so via Arbor at your earliest convenience.

On Friday, we will become “Egg Protectors”! The children will design and create their own egg protectors using junk modelling materials.

We kindly ask that you send in any clean recycling materials such as boxes, containers, paper plates, paper or plastic cups, as well as soft materials like old newspaper, bubble wrap, or unwanted fabric.

Thank you for your continued support.
