EYFS UPDATES

Next week, after enjoying a restful Bank Holiday Monday, we will be moving from small to big in our topic by exploring the wonderful world of the classic story Jack and the Beanstalk.

In this much-loved tale, Jack swaps his cow for a handful of magic beans, which grow into a giant beanstalk reaching high into the sky. Climbing to the top, he discovers a magical land with a giant... Leading to a very exciting adventure!

We’ll be having lots of fun bringing the story to life by retelling it together, learning some new vocabulary. There will be plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning, imaginative play and working together as we explore the story.

On Friday, we will be planting our very own beanstalks to see if we can reach the giant’s castle! We will be discussing the life cycle of a plant and exploring what plants need to thrive.

Within our continuous provision, we will also be exploring transient art by creating the giant’s face using different types of dried beans and pulses. If you have a small amount of these at home that are near their use-by date or are surplus to requirements, please do feel free to send them in.

Thank you for your support. We are looking forward to a fun-filled week of stories, creativity and a little bit of magic!
