Hockley Library Car Park is just a 10 minute walk to Westerings!

We've secured more permits for parents to park-and-stride to and from school! Avoid the mad rush for spaces, the engine-idling and the stress of navigating the congested roads at peak times by parking for free at the Library and walking the rest of the way! This is particularly helpful for families coming from Rayliegh, Ashingdon, Rochford, or Hall Road (Stroud Green) areas, where walking is not reasonable, or, for those in Hockley and Hawkwell who need to drive as part of their morning routine/commute.

Now available to apply for until the end of this academic year, these allow Westerings parents and carers to use SOUTHEND ROAD (Library) Car Park between 08:25-09:10 and 14:50-15:40 Mon-Fri (during term time only).

To apply for your permit, please email our School Parking team via

schoolparking@chelmsford.gov.uk and CC (copy) the school on contactus@liftwesterings.org with the following details:

Subject: Westerings parent parking permit

2 | Your child’s name

3 | Vehicle registration number

4 | Mobile number

5 | Email address

6 | Full home address

Initially, there are only 10 permits. Permits will be issued on a first come, first served basis and only one ticket will be issued per household to ensure every parent and carer has a fair chance.

You will receive a confirmation email once your vehicle has been registered. This

could take up to 5 working days so we thank you in advance for your patience.

If the scheme is successful and uptake/demand is strong, we will aim to increase the number of permits available.
