Friday update :)

Well- what a great first full week in year 3! We have made edible rocks in Science, we have learnt about John Constable in Art and drawn our own special landscape. We have been writing similies and expanded noun phrases about the Iron Man in English and learning all about place value of 3 digit numbers in Maths-that's only half of the subjects we have learnt about this week!

Well done on all of our star readers! 4 dojos are on their way to you. Keep up with your reading. The children can change their books when they need to first thing in the morning when they come in to school.

I can see that you have all been learning your spellings and we gave out lots of dojos for full marks this week! This week your new spellings are where the digraph ou makes a "u" sound.

Please learn this ready for Friday's test.

This week your child has been given their TTRs log in. Please keep this safe and try to learn this as they will be logging in lots in school and hopefully at home! Try to spend a few minutes each day to practise your tables. This half term we are revisiting their 2's 5's and 10's from year 2. They need to know them quickly and off by heart. TTRs is great for this as it helps with rapid recall and memory and in additon they can earn and collect their coins. The speedier they get, the higher they earn their rockstar status!

Have a wonderful weekend.

The year 3 team :)
