Parent Consultation Support Work

We are looking forward to meeting you all later this evening or next Wednesday.

We have provided a bank of resources to support your child with their Maths and English at home. These are not compulsory but we would like to provide you with examples of what the children will be doing in school.

Here you can find government recommended spellings, children need to be able to read and write the majority of these words by May in Year 6. The Year 5/6 spellings are also covered in our spelling curriculum. The children would benefit from practising these words throughout the year.

The arithmetic papers are a strong focus for supporting children with the skills they will need to achieve the expected standard in Year 6. The Year 6 content has been removed to allow children to consolidate their learning from years 3-5 so far.

Reading with your children is still vitally important to continue to develop your child's comprehension and fluency skills. Please ensure you log this on Boom Reader as we monitor this weekly. We have attached quick comprehension extracts with questions so you are able to see the level and style of questions they are looking at at school.

We also want to remind you that the homework set correlates to the learning in class, therefore your continued support with this would be appreciated.

Thank you again for your continued support, we look forward to sharing your child's progress with you later this evening or next week.
