As the season of remembrance arrives, we reflect on the sacrifices made by countless individuals who served our country. This year, the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal takes on an even greater significance, and we are excited to share a unique initiative to support this noble cause. Our school pup (Zola) has been popularised through the distribution of keychains this year. Flag waving Zola, Christmas Zola (and more to come!)... Since it's been a great fundraiser for the school, we know it will be a great way of generating funds for this amazing charity. And so, we will be selling 'Poppy Zola' keyrings, with at least £1 from each purchase going directly to the Hockley branch of the Royal British Legion.

The Importance of the Poppy Appeal

The Poppy Appeal is a critical fundraising campaign organised by the Royal British Legion to support veterans and their families. Every year, millions across the UK wear poppies as symbols of remembrance for those who have sacrificed their lives in the armed forces.

In 2022 alone, the Poppy Appeal generated over £55 million. These funds provide essential services, including financial assistance, rehabilitation, and mental health care for veterans. For example, in the past year, more than 7,000 veterans received mental health support through various programs funded by donations. By participating in this campaign, we honor the sacrifices of those who have fallen and provide meaningful support to those still facing challenges after their service.

The Poppy Zola keyrings serve as a stylish way to show your support while also acquiring a unique accessory (and whilst wearing a poppy is a great way of showing support, sadly, at our children's ages, these frequently fall off, get lost or don't stick to cardigans/jumpers properly!)

Each keyring features an eye-catching poppy design, symbolising remembrance and hope. With every keyring sold, at least £1 will be donated to the Hockley branch of the Royal British Legion. This means that by purchasing a keyring, you are contributing to vital services that help improve the lives of those who have served.

Parents can easily purchase a Poppy Zola keyring through our app, making it simple to support this worthy cause. These keyrings will also be available for just £1.50 (cash) starting WEDNESDAY in classes.

When you purchase a keyring, you are not only acquiring a cute accessory, but you also contribute to a cause that positively impacts many lives. As it's a school item, your child can attach it to their school bag, pencil case or coat!
