Week 4 Weekly Update - 09.01.26

We have had an absolutely whirlwind of a week! From the magical halls of Warner Bros. Studio Tour to the dense (imaginary) undergrowth of the Amazon!

In English - The children have been channelling their inner survivalist with The Explorer. We have been exploring jungle poems and writing our survival lists to help with their explanation texts in the coming weeks!

Spellings this week:

Words with the suffix ‘-ous’

disastrous

perilous

mountainous

poisonous

precious

jealous

dangerous

enormous

tremendous

marvellous

In Maths - Solving problems with addition and subtraction is all about choosing the right strategy (like the column method, dienes or partioning). The children have been working hard to apply their knowledge!

We have also been focusing on our 7 times tables!

In Science and PSHE - We have been exploring our new topic of Electricity! It was also wonderful when Year 6 joined us for our PSHE lesson to explore everyone's superpowers and finish our Inner Wings project! Hearing real-life stories from older peers was a powerful way to build that "inner wing" of confidence.

Lift Explores Day Monday:  Don't forget to check the Dojo post for specific details about the exciting lessons that will be taking place!

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
