🏰 Year 2 Hedingham Castle Trip – What Your Child Will Need
Dear Parents and Carers,
With our Year 2 trip to Hedingham Castle on Tuesday 29th September getting closer, we wanted to share a few reminders about what the children will need to bring and wear on the day.
👕 What to wear
Children should come to school wearing their normal school uniform, including their normal school shoes.
Every child must also bring a warm, waterproof coat, regardless of if rain is forecast. If unforeseen circumstances mean that we need to spend longer outdoors than anticipated, it is important that every child has clothing that will keep them warm and dry.
Please do not send your child with an umbrella.
🥪 Packed lunch
Children will need to bring a packed lunch in a disposable carrier bag.
Please remember that packed lunches should contain no nuts, chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks. Where possible, please choose items that your child can open and eat independently.
💧 Drinks
Please send your child with plenty to drink for the whole day. Each child should have a full, named water bottle.
There will be nowhere to refill water bottles once we are at Hedingham Castle, so please make sure your child has enough water to last throughout the visit.
🎒 What to bring
Your child will need a comfortable backpack that they can carry themselves throughout the day. This should contain:
Their packed lunch
A full, named water bottle
Their warm, waterproof coat if they are not wearing it
Please make sure that coats, backpacks and water bottles are clearly named.
Children do not need to bring money, toys, electronic devices or other valuables.
💊 Medication
Any medication that is already held in school, such as EpiPens or asthma inhalers, will be brought with us on the trip as required.
If your child needs travel-sickness medication or any additional medication specifically for the journey or trip, please contact the school office in advance so that this can be arranged through the school's usual medication procedures.
Please do not put medication directly into your child's backpack.
🕘 On the morning
Please bring your child to school at the usual time so that we can register everyone and get organised ready to leave promptly.
Please make sure your child has had a good breakfast before coming to school, ready for a busy and exciting day!
We are really looking forward to sharing this experience with the children and having a fantastic day exploring Hedingham Castle together. 🏰
