Year 2 🌸 Poppies and Violets Weekly Update! 🌸

What a fantastic final week of the half term it’s been! The children in Poppies and Violets have been absolutely brilliant — full of energy, curiosity, and creativity right up to the very end. 🌟

In Maths, we’ve been exploring how to multiply by 10 using repeated addition and counting in tens. The children have worked so hard spotting patterns, making connections, and using practical resources to show their understanding. We’ve been so impressed by how confident they’ve become at counting in 10s — it’s been wonderful to see those lightbulb moments shining across the classroom! 💡🔢

Over in English, we’ve been finishing our non-chronological reports about dragons, and what an imaginative bunch of dragon experts we have! From Crystal Dragons that shimmer in the sunlight, to Space Dragons that soar among the stars, and even Fire Dragons that breathe colourful flames, the children have shown incredible creativity and descriptive flair. Their reports are full of fascinating facts, magical ideas, and wonderful vocabulary — we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts! 🐉✨

As we head into the Halloween half term break, we want to say a huge thank you for all your support this term. The children have worked so hard and achieved so much already — they truly deserve a good rest (and maybe a few Halloween treats too! 🍬👻).
