Year 4 Weekly Update - 02.07.26

We have had a fantastic, busy week of learning! Here is a snapshot of what your children have been up to:

Spellings this week to be tested on Friday are revision words

circle, solve, reluctantly, supermarket, scene, bicycle, expression, musician, except, group

🏫 Moving On Up!

Transition sessions with our new teachers have been really fun this week! The children had the opportunity to visit their new classrooms, meet their teachers for next year, and get a feel for the exciting journey ahead. We are so proud of how each and every child has dealt with this change!

📐 Design & Technology (DT)

We have been busy planning our DT night lights! The children have come up with some brilliant designs, and we are all set and ready to start making them next week.

✍️ English

We have officially kicked off our final narrative unit of the year! The children are writing a "Time Travel Mix-Up" story, where their main character accidentally steps through a portal and goes back in time. Their imaginations are already running wild with ideas.

🔢 Maths

This week, we have been diving deep into the world of time. We've been exploring 24-hour time, digital clocks, and analogue clocks.

💡 How you can help at home: > Telling the time can be a really tricky concept to master! Any extra practice at home would be amazing. You can help by:Asking them to check the time on a wall clock (analogue).Comparing a digital microwave or phone clock to an analogue clock.Talking about morning (AM) vs. afternoon/evening (PM) and how that looks on a 24-hour clock (e.g., why 4:00 PM is 16:00).

Next week... KS2 Sports Day will be taking place in the morning on 09.06.26. Please see Dojo for all posts relating to this exciting event!

Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend!
