Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had another fantastic and busy week of learning! Here is a look at what we have been up to, alongside some very important notices for this week and next.
Spellings this week will be revision words. These will be tested on Friday 17th July (this will be the final test of the year!)
believe, bravely, wildly, preparation, incorrect, coronation, international, thoughtfully, subject, illegible
🌟 What We've Been Learning This Week
Maths: We have been tackling time-related problems, learning how to calculate and convert between hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as working with days, months, and years.
Music: The children turned into mini-composers this week, working hard on composing and performing their very own musical rounds.
Art & DT: The creative mess is about to begin! At the end of this week, we will finally be creating our paper-mâché night lights. Please see our Dojo post regarding bringing in an old t-shirt and any newspapers you have.
🏆 Important: Sports Day (Thursday, 9th July – AM)
Our Sports Day will be taking place this Thursday morning! To make sure the children stay safe and comfortable while competing, please ensure they bring or have applied the following:
🧢 A sun hat or cap
💧 A water bottle (clearly labelled)
☀️ Suncream (please apply this generously before they come to school)
🪭 Handheld fans (optional, but welcome as it is likely to be warm!)
🛍️ Bringing Home Our Amazing Work!
We will soon be sending home all of our learning books from this year. To help the children carry them home safely, please send your child in with a "bag for life" or an equivalent sturdy reusable bag.
Note: Standard school backpacks might be a bit too tight for all of their amazing work, so a strong, flat-bottomed bag is absolutely perfect. Thank you for your support with this!
As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to enjoying the last few weeks of Year 4!
Warm regards,
The Year 4 Team
