Year 4 Weekly Update - 11.06.26

What a wonderful first week back we have had in Year 4!

We are beyond proud of each and every child for their dedication and hard work during the final MTC checks this week. They have shown such determination and resilience, and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves. We certainly are!

The children have also been completing some end-of-year assessments and have approached these with a fantastic attitude. They have worked so hard and have given every task their very best effort.

In English, we have started exploring My Family and Other Romans. We have been learning about the many Roman inventions that still serve us today and have enjoyed discussing how these innovations have shaped modern life. This is all helping us prepare for writing our own information texts about Roman inventions over the coming weeks.

In Maths, we have been focusing on statistics, looking at a range of graphs and charts. The children have been developing their skills in reading, interpreting and comparing data, and have impressed us with their thoughtful observations and reasoning.

We have also launched our final DT project of the year, and excitement is already building! The children will be designing and creating their own night lights. This week, we began by carrying out some important research to inspire our designs and help us understand the features of successful products.

A reminder that next Tuesday will be an off-timetable day as we enjoy our final Wild West Day! We are all looking forward to a day full of fun activities and memorable experiences to celebrate our learning together. Please find all information about the day on the letter attached below. If anyone is able to volunteer to help on this day, please do let the office know.
