Year 4 Weekly Update

What a productive and exciting week we've had. The Christmas countdown is officially on!

This week...

We've packed a lot into the last few school days before the festive break!

• Design & Technology (DT): We became junior engineers! We tested our catapults to see just how far we could project our small balls of tin foil. There was some fantastic measuring and tinkering!

• English: The children have been busy finalising their set of instructions about their magical potions, getting them ready for the final edit and publication. They are looking fantastic!

• Maths: Our focus has been on subtraction, specifically mastering the tricky technique of exchanging the tens.

• Religious Education (RE): We explored the deep and thought-provoking question, 'What do we mean by truth?' We looked at our own personal beliefs, as well as core Muslim and Christian beliefs.

• Physical Education (PE): We finished our yoga topic with some fun Christmas yoga poses and a flow designed by the children. We wonder if the children can remember any to show you their impeccable balance!

Looking Ahead: Next Week's Christmas Countdown!

Next week is jam-packed with lovely activities to enjoy as we build up to Christmas!

Thank you in advance from the Year 4 team for your support in making sure the last week of term is filled with fun and festivities!

Day	Activity	Important Notes
Wednesday morning	Christmas Dinner & Class Party	Christmas Jumper Day! Jumpers to be worn over their uniform.
Wednesday afternoon		Class Party: Please send in a small selection of party food (no nuts please) for your child to share. If you have any paper plates at home that you could donate, we would be grateful!
Thursday morning	Last Day of Term!	Board games - The children will have the opportunity to bring in a board game/card game of their choice to play with their peers on Thursday morning. If your child would like to bring a game in, please bring them in in a labelled carrier bag. Morning Surprise: The WPSA has a super inflatable surprise for the classes! Children should come to school in their uniform ready to bounce. This will be followed by a festive quiz and Christmas crafts/activities!
Thursday afternoon	Class Quiz, Crafts & Film	Afternoon will be a festive film and finishing off any Christmas snacks as we wind down!
