Westerings the Musical: Dates & Deadlines
The "Big Show" is almost here! To ensure everything runs smoothly, please take note of the following:
Costume Deadline: Please ensure all costumes are brought into school by Wednesday 29th April.
Final Rehearsals: Children will be sent home with their song lyrics and script lines again this week. We are asking for "one final push" at home to help them feel confident and stage-ready!
Maths & Times Tables
TTRS (Times Tables Rock Stars): A friendly reminder to keep practicing! The children will be completing their final mock test next week before the real assessment. Consistent practice makes a huge difference in their speed and confidence.
Fractions: In class, we have been working hard on finding fractions of amounts!
English: "Show, Don't Tell"
In our writing sessions, we are moving away from simple descriptions. Instead of writing "He was sad," the children are learning to "Show, Don't Tell" by describing a character’s physical actions and emotions (e.g., "His bottom lip trembled as he stared at the floor"). This is helping them dive much deeper into character development.
Science: The Queen of Physics
This week, we’ve been inspired by the life and work of Chien-Shiung Wu, often referred to as the "Queen of Physics." The children have been looking at her incredible contributions to nuclear physics and her persistence as a woman in science.
Thank you for your continued support. Well done for another amazing week Year 4!
