Year 5 Weekly Blog wb. 13th July 2026

An Unforgettable Friday!

What a fantastic Friday we had! From pushing the limits to overcoming fears, the children absolutely blew us away during our Belchamps trip. The excitement didn't stop there - our sleepover was a huge success! While we were all left absolutely exhausted, we hope the children managed to catch up on some well-deserved sleep over the weekend!

Reminders for This Week

We have another action-packed week ahead. Please take note of these key schedule updates:

  • Wednesday – Greensward Transition: Children will need to be dropped off directly at Greensward Academy at 9:00 AM and picked up from Greensward at 2:00 PM. Children should wear their school PE kit.

  • Thursday Morning (AM) – Sports Day! Come ready to cheer the children on! Please ensure they arrive in their PE shorts and coloured House T-shirt, with suncream applied, a sun hat, and a water bottle.


The weather is meant to be extremely hot this week, please ensure children are wearing hats, have a water bottle and have applied suncream!


Looking Ahead: Reminders for Next Week

  • Monday – Meet the Buddies: A wonderful opportunity for the children to connect with their new buddies!

  • Tuesday – Class Cover: Miss Jackson will be away in London delivering her Middle Leadership presentation. The wonderful Mrs Shorten will be teaching Hazel class for the whole day.

  • Wednesday – PE & Greensward Event: We will have PE as usual, followed by a special PE afternoon at Greensward for selected children only. They will need a packed lunch.
