Year 5 Weekly Blog wb. 14.7.25

It’s hard to believe we’re almost at the end of Year 5 — what an amazing journey it has been! We just wanted to take a moment to say how much we’ve absolutely loved teaching your children this year. Their curiosity, kindness, humour, and resilience have made every day a joy. It’s been such a privilege to watch them grow, and we couldn’t be prouder of all they’ve achieved.

As we prepare to refresh and reorganise our class library over the summer, we’d be really grateful if any school reading books hiding at home could please be returned this week. Every book makes a big difference — thank you!

This week the children enjoyed some brilliant transition sessions with Mr Wade and Mr Bird, and they handled the change with such positivity and enthusiasm. It was also lovely to see so many of you during our transition meetings — thank you for coming and for your ongoing support.

Reminders for next week: Mon - Sports Day! Please make sure your child comes to school wearing; their house colour t-shirt, sun-cream and a hat (weather depending), a water bottle

Tues - Last day of term! To celebrate the end of a fantastic year, we’ve planned a relaxed and fun final day. Children can:

  • Bring in a board game to enjoy with friends

  • Take part in our Year 5 Talent Show

  • Bring a small snack (please no sharing, as we have children with allergies)

Thank you for being such wonderful supporters of your children and our class this year. We wish you all a happy, safe, and sunny summer, and we can’t wait to see everyone shine in Year 6! 🌞💫
