Year 5 Weekly Blog wb. 17th March

Miss Jackson

What a great week! Started off with a great book fair raising funds for our library and book corners. In Science, the children have learnt about antenatal and prenatal care. In English, they have been drafting their hot task where they are writing a formal letter to Keir Starmer highlighting the importance of protecting our rainforests. In Maths, we have been exploring timetables, we have identified areas of improvement when learning time including understanding the 24 hour clock which is part of our homework this week. Tomorrow Hazel class says goodbye to Miss Worboyes who returns to Plumberow, she has had her second teaching placement with us and we have been very lucky to have her!

A quick reminder any last minute payments for Colchester Zoo should have been paid by now, we have a couple from each class who have not paid. Children are invited to bring up to £10 to spend in the gift shop, please note we will not be collecting this, they are responsible for their own money and will be carrying this around all day.
