Year 5 Weekly Blog wb. 23rd March

Our Learning This Week

  • DT (Structures): We’ve been putting our Mayan house models to the test! After constructing these traditional dwellings, the children have been evaluating their stability and structural integrity to see how they hold up under pressure.

  • Science: Continuing our "Animals Including Humans" unit, we’ve been exploring the adolescent stage. The class is navigating the physical and emotional changes of puberty with great maturity, and we’ve been busy answering their insightful questions.

  • Geography: We’ve reached the conclusion of our South American study. The children have been finalising their comparisons between Peru and Uruguay, expertly highlighting the dramatic differences between their mountain ranges and lowland plains.
