Our Learning This Week
English: We have been refining our storytelling skills by focusing on dialogue. The children are learning how to use direct speech not just for conversation, but to cleverly reveal character traits and move the plot forward in their 5-part stories based on Cogheart.
Maths: We’ve moved into the finer details of fractions. This week, the class has been comparing and ordering fractions by finding a common denominator - a tricky skill that requires great focus and a solid grasp of their times tables!
Science: Our "Animals Including Humans" unit is off to a great start. Our specific focus has been identifying the various physical and mental milestones children achieve during childhood. We’ve had some great discussions about how much we change between being a toddler and a pre-teen.
Important Reminders
Tomorrow: World Book Day! We are so excited to see the children's creative costumes tomorrow! It is always a highlight of the year and a wonderful way to celebrate our love of reading.
Reminders for next week:
Weds - PE, DT Food Challenge Day (for selected children only). If your child is involved, they should have received a letter; they will be accompanied by Mrs Gunton.
