Good morning Year 5!
A quick reminder Wild West tomorrow. Appropriate clothing for Wild West - no crop tops/hot pants please. Please make sure your child wears sun cream and they can reapply this at lunchtime. We are not allowed to support children reapplying sun cream, so please ensure your child can do this for themselves. A hat is advised and hair should be tied back as normal because we will be outside all day. It will be very hot, so please ensure your child has a water bottle that can be refilled throughout the day. We will have a water fight in the afternoon, so please make sure your child has a spare change of clothes (ideally PE kit) and shoes!
Children will be coming home with their First Aid certificates from their training on Tuesday. Please ensure any final payments are made to the office ASAP. Next week we will be continuing first aid with a refresher on CPR, letter to follow. We are so proud of the children who took part in Cross Country yesterday, they represented our year groups and the school with enthusiasm and confidence on an extremely hot day! This week we have completed the first two of our RSE (Relationship and Sex Education) lessons, in which the children were taught about: the scientific names for reproductive organs (internal and external), menstruation and wet dreams. The children had many questions which we have answered appropriately for their age group. I'm sure the children will want to discuss this further at home, if there are any further questions, please email the school contactus@westerings.org and we will get back to you.
