Year 5 - Weekly update 15.5.25

Good afternoon parents!

What a week! The children have completed their end of year assessments and we are so proud of the effort they have put in! The children have made great progress with learning the songs for our music festival. We know it will be a memorable evening! Please refer to the Music Festival letter for links to the music, any additional practise at home will be appreciated. We are still short of payments for the Music Festival and First Aid, please ensure you have paid otherwise these events will not be able to take place.

Next week reminders:

Mon - PE

Tues - Grove Wood Music Festival Rehearsal (please see previous letter), children to arrive by 8:30am with water bottles

Weds - mixed netball tournament (selected children only)

Thurs - maths intervention (selected children only)

Fri - INSET (no school)

Spellings this week:

co-author, co-operate, co-ordinate, co-own, re-educate, re-energise, re-enter, re-evaluate, re-examine, re-explain

Children will be tested on the spellings next Thursday.

Due to the fantastic results with assessments this week, we will not be setting homework. Please ensure you continue to read and practise spellings instead.

We are planning a DT day next half term to create moving toys. For the day to run smoothly, we will need a lot of DBS parent helpers for the whole day. The date of this is 1st July, if you are able to help, please email the office contactus@westerings.org and we will contact you to confirm.
