Year 6 Weekly Update - 13/2/26

Dear parents and carers,

Year 6 should be commended for all their hard work this half term - some brilliant outcomes and achievements to be proud of, and a well-deserved week's break next week! For your information:

Spellings

Spellings for the first week back are:

  • thorough

  • bruise

  • convenience

  • shoulder

  • interrupt

  • embarrass

  • occupy

  • aggressive

  • forty

Homework

As always, SATs companion homework will appear today, with a due date of the first Friday back - it is up to children if they complete it over the holidays, or wait until we return when they will still have 5 days to complete it. Similarly, 4 weekly reads will be checked on the first Friday we return.

Trip - Braintree Museum

We are excited that we have booked a day trip to Braintree Museum on Wednesday 25th March, where children will experience a WW2 themed day involving fun sessions led by museum experts - we hope this will really inspire children with their next History topic! Payment and other details are on Arbor, and the Westerings App has a separate post about it with a detailed letter.

TTRS Day - first day back

A reminder that out first day back will be Times Table Rock Stars day - children are encouraged to dress up as rockstars, and bring thier times table A-games!

Wishing you a wonderful half term,

Mr Wade & Mr Bird
