Year 6 Weekly Update - 14/11/25

Dear parents and carers,

Here's the weekly update for Year 6:

Parent Consultations

Parent consultations are occurring Wednesday 19th and Monday 24th November. If you would still like the opportunity to meet with your child's class teacher, and to receive your child's mock SATs papers, then please contact the school office where we can look to arrange a time that may still be available.

Rugby Taster

On Monday 17th November, Year 6 will be having a 'Rugby Taster' session. As such, children are welcome to wear PE kits on Monday. They will still have their usual PE lessons on Thursday as well - so apologies if this means a quick was turn around!

Spellings

Our weekly spellings are 'soft c' spelt 'ce' words:

  • sacrifice

  • prejudice

  • necessary

  • cemetery

  • nuisance

  • hindrance

  • certificate

  • December

  • deceased

  • celebrate

Homework

Despite a slight improvement on last week, homework and logged home read engagement are still, across the year group, lower than we would hope for. Providing the time and routine for your children to complete these is an essential piece of preparation for secondary school next year, and one of the most impactful things parents can do to support their child's education. As ever, if there are any issues please let us know.

I have attached the SATs Companion Parent Handbook, if it is of any use.

Kind regards,

Mr Wade & Mr Bird
