Dear parents and carers,
Please see below for key information relating to Easter and our first week back (beginning Tuesday 22nd April, due to the bank holiday).
Your children yesterday all brought home a variety of revision tools and documents to aid them and you over Easter and the following three weeks of school before SATs. This includes their most recent mock SATs, QLA (Question Level Analysis) sheets, independent learning books and 'Spring Break' revision menu (also attached here)
An accompanying video explaining all of these documents and digital resources has been shared via Class Dojo.
There is no new SATs companion tasks set over Easter (as per all holidays) however, any outstanding homework tasks are still available to complete - ignore if they say they're overdue!
Spellings for the first week back are:
changeably
noticeably
dependably
comfortably
reasonably
adorably
valuably
believably
considerably
tolerably
Before school interventions (including Mr Wade's Year 6 Writing group) have now finished, and will not resume after the holidays - enjoy the lie in!
Finally, Westerings has introduced a new Obsidian book band exclusive for exceptional readers in Year 5 and Year 6. These books have been bought to engage our older students, but often contain more mature themes than our standard library books, As such, each Obsidian book band book has a small explanation inside the front cover of the intended reading age and any more young adult themes it may encompass - please check over this if your child brings home a new reading book (we have aksed them to let you know proactively) to ensure you are happy with their choice - the uptake already has been phenomenal!
The Year 6 team wish you and your children a fantastic Easter holiday. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to hitting the ground running in our final stretch to SATs when we get back.
Best regards,
The Year 6 Team
