Dear parents and carers,
We hope you had a lovely half term break. Lots of events for our first week of Autumn 2 - Victorian Day, Christmas Art, Music, new PE units and children receiving their mock SAT results back!
Spellings
This week's spellings are:
shoulder
smoulder
mould
thrown
known
blown
window
shallow
soul
poultry
Mock SAT results
Over the week, children have received their mock SATs results - and what an achievement! Children will likely have told you how they got on, but the papers and the results will be shared with you in our upcoming Parent Consultations in Week 3 and 4 of the half term. If you are yet to book an appointment, please do so via Arbor.
Homework
Homework and home reading has seen a concerning dip over the holidays, but we're hoping to see a return to form for next Friday's due SATs companion homework and Boom Reader logged reads. As always, any technical difficulties please do get in touch so we can help.
Independent Learning Books
Many Year 6 students are really starting to make good use of their independent learning books, which should be coming home every day and into school everyday as a space for children to work on their own targets and areas of focus, in combination with resources such as SATs Companion and Google Classroom. Pleasing to see!
CGP Revision Guides
Further to this, children are in the process of being loaned a Maths and Grammar CGP revision book. These need to be in school every day too, but can be taken home if children wish to use them. Please note these are loans and will need to be returned in a suitable condition at the end of the year to avoid a fine.
Wishing you a pleasant weekend,
Mr Wade & Mr Bird
