Year 6 Weekly Update 8.5.26

Dear parents and carers,

A short update to say how impressed the Year 6 team are with your children's readiness, positive attitude and eagerness to show their very best in next week's SATs tests. A few notes for the coming week:

SATs

The letter posted yesterday on the Westerings App outlines all the pertinent details about the timetable, tests and other info around procedures for SATs week.

Breakfast!

To help settle the children, and as a much-deserved treat, school will be providing a small 'treat' breakfast each test morning next week (Monday through Thursday). Each day, there will be a different breakfast food such as pancakes, waffles, croissants or pan au chocolat for children to enjoy with their friends before tests begin for the day. We'll also provide some bananas to get the brains going too!

Please still ensure your children eat a decent breakfast as usual at home, and see the school provided one as a nice top-up!

PE next week

PE will be on Thursday next week.

SATs Companion Homework & Spellings

Due to the SATs, we will not be setting SATs Companion tasks or spellings for next week. Children have been highly encouraged to use the practice area of SATs Companion, or the myriad of links and resources provided at Easter, for some light revision on target areas, and our focus after test each day will be similar - light revision for the following day's tests.

As we head into next week, you might notice a few butterflies at home. Please remind your children that those nerves are simply a sign of how much they care - a reflection of their fantastic attitude. We want to reassure you that this cohort is exceptionally well-prepared, and we couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them, and the remarkable things they have achieved in the lead up to these assessments. The 'heavy lifting' of learning is already done, and next week is just their chance to shine and show their best, whatever that may be.

Thank you for your continued support, as always.

Best regards,

The Year 6 Team
