Yr1 Weekly Updates WB: 11.05 IMPORTANT UPDATE

Morning,
Please see below any updates regarding next week.
Monday 11th: Change of PE day!!! In order to assist our Year 6's with their tightly scheduled SATs timetable for next week, Year 1 will be having their PE on Monday morning. Please share this message, children will need to come in to school in their PE kit on Monday 11th instead of Thursday 14th.
Learning updates:
We have started looking at multiplication in Maths and will be continuing this next week. We will start looking at group counting using arrays, creating physical arrays and drawing arrays to help answer multiplication questions with 2s, 5s and 10 times tables.
In Writing we are continuing to engage with the story of The Ugly Five by Julia Donaldson. This week we will be continuing to embed the practise of using conjunctions to join 2 simple clauses as well as writing brilliant descriptive sentences using adjectives and commas.
In Science we will be conducting an experiment to see which material is best used to keep things warm.
In DT, we will be making our bread rolls. The dough will be made in school and provided to the children for moulding. The ingredients for the rolls include: white flour, table salt, yeast, olive oil and water.
Tuesday 12th: Our trip to Belchamps to burn our Tudor houses. If you are available Tuesday morning to volunteer support for the visit please do let the office know.

Spellings will take place on 15.05, please see week 5 on the spellings sheet.
