What a fantastic and productive final week we've had leading up to the half-term break! The children have shown incredible focus and energy, and they definitely deserve this well-earned rest.
This Week's Highlights
In Art, the children channeled their inner Roman artists as they completed their brilliant Roman Bust sculptures. They look fantastic and truly reflect the creativity and skill the children have developed this term.
We have had a great week in Maths, where the children completed several MTC practice tests. We are so proud of how hard they worked and the sheer determination they showed throughout these sessions! We also enjoyed exploring Roman Numerals, connecting our maths skills back to our historical topic.
Our Computing lessons focused on essential digital skills, as the children learned about safely collaborating online. This is such a key skill for the future, and they quickly grasped the concepts of working together responsibly.
In English, the children have worked hard to finalise their persuasive letters to Mr Arable, to ensure that Wilbur is kept on the farm! The language that they have used this week has amazed us!
Finally, in Gymnastics, teamwork was also key! The children worked together in groups to create and perform a sequence incorporating rolls, precise turns, and strong balances. It was wonderful to see their collaboration and coordination skills shine.
Spellings for After Half Term
To help them prepare for our return, the spellings for the week after half term will focus on words containing the common suffix '-ation'.
These will be tested on Friday 7th October.
Please encourage your child to practice these words during the break.
