What an exciting week we have had!
In English, we have been preapring for our first hot task! We have been thinking about different ways of describing the setting of the farm in Charlotte's Webb from an animal's persepctive. The children have been thinking about which animal would be the most entertaining to use :) We have been using our five senses, fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and much more to make our writing more descriptive! We are really focusing on making sure we take pride in our work and some of the children have already been to show Mr Stainsbury their amazing work. What an achievement!
In Maths, we have been consolidating our understanding of place value. The children now have a really good understanding of different methods to partition 4 digit numbers!
The children have been completing their NGRT (reading) and PTM (maths) assessments, which are vital for helping us to identify learning gaps and plan for future support. Well done to every single one of you - you have worked so hard and we are incredibly proud!
In History this week we have been exploring the quesion 'How large was the Roman Empire? by exploring a range of maps and images! In Art, we have started to explore Edmonia Lewis and her work - ready to start planning and making our own scuptures! In gymnastics, we have been learning how to jump and land safely, including a half, quarter and whole turn! The children really amazed us with their balance! In Spanish, we have been singing our way through the week with commands in the classroom. We wonder if the children can remember the song (with actions) to show you at home?!
