Year 4 Weekly Update - 27.11.25

Updated: Nov 28, 2025

Weekly Round-Up and Key Updates

Here is a summary of our fantastic week in class and some important reminders for the week ahead.

📚Learning Highlights

  • DT: We concluded our design unit by writing detailed instructions on how to construct our final catapult design.

  • English - We also embraced our creative side, planning and writing wonderful 'Magic Cauldron' poems, taking inspiration from the structure of Kit Wright’s 'The Magic Box'.

  • Maths: We have built upon our mental addition skills and are now moving onto the written method of addition. We are starting with caluculations that require no regrouping (4 digits). This method is similar to the support sheet shared at Parents' Evening—please ask us at the door if you need another copy!

  • Science: Our investigation into Sound continued. We learned all about string telephones and explored the science behind how they transmit vibrations and work.

  • Times Tables: We've been focusing hard on the 9x tables. The children are performing amazingly on TTRS (Times Tables Rock Stars)! We are so proud!
