Spelling Support
Year 5 are trialling learning spellings through a morphology approach before we look to change our spellings across the school. We still have the same spellings but we will be teaching how to break the words down into morphemes and how this helps remember the meanings of words. We are also practising writing them within sentences to try to prevent the spelling test from becoming a memory test. This way, we are hoping children will use these words in their writing on a regu
