Year 4 had a fantastic week!
The children thoroughly enjoyed Common Seas Day, where they attended live-streamed assemblies featuring eco-warriors, including a marine biologist. These sessions inspired the children to consider the role they can play in protecting our environment. In English, we had lots of fun learning our model text through drama, culminating in a lively reciting battle between both classes. In Maths, the children confidently applied their knowledge to master column addition.
Looking ahead to next week:
- In Maths, we will focus on column subtraction,.
- In English, we will explore different literary features to enhance our character descriptions of Jupiter, the Roman God.
- We will continue working on our 6 times tables and strongly encourage children to use Times Tables Rockstars (TTR) at least four times a week to develop their fluency.
Reminders and Upcoming Events:
- Friday, 22nd November: INSET/Teacher Training Day (school closed for pupils).
- Monday, 25th November: Greensward Science Day – more details to follow.
- Library book change: Please ensure your child brings their library book to school on Monday.
- Page Pals: We are still looking for volunteers to support our reading programme. If you’re able to help, please sign up as per our previous post.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
